Digital Lagoon announces the addition of an Inca Spyder 320 Digital Flatbed Press

Inca SpyderThis 4-color press is a true flatbed machine with pinpoint drop accuracy and is the highest quality/fastest digital flatbed press in the world. The Inca Spyder can print directly to virtually any surface up to 1.2" thick: wood, paper, vinyl, styrene, laminates, aluminum, fabric, glass, stone, canvas, leather, and other uneven surfaces. It also offers the ability for exceptional 3D and motion lenticular printing ranging from 10 line flip to 40 line 3D lens. This digital flatbed press can print up to 126" x 63" using UV cured inks which are weatherable outdoors uncoated for 3 years with minimal color fade. With the capability to print up to 870 square feet per hour, Digital Lagoon will be able to offer high quality large printing with minimal turn time! This new division of Digital Lagoon will be ready for production by the end of July. Please contact John Davies at johnd@lagoon.com for more details.

High Definition Video Coming to Digital Lagoon

High Definition CamerasDigital Lagoon has recently purchased two Panasonic HVX200 High Definitions cameras and will soon offer high definition video. The camera offers multi-format recording in 1080i/720p/480i modes, providing the flexibility in recording standard definition all the way up to high definition formats using variable frame rates for true film style shooting.

The HVX200 utilizes the new P2 technology allowing all video to be recorded to a solid state memory module. This eliminates any moving parts and allows instant viewing and recording without the need to digitize. Digital Lagoon has also invested in 4-8 Gig cards along with hard drive technology that will allow us to record over 2 hours of high definition video in the field.

Edit SuiteAlong with the new format, Digital Lagoon recently completed the remodel and upgrade of both Avid and Final Cut Pro edit suites to allow for the acquisition and editing of high definition video both in the studio and on location.

With the installation of a DVD-HD recorder in June, Digital Lagoon will very soon be able to shoot, edit and record directly to HD-DVD for final delivery and distribution. Please contact Jordan Gershon jordang@lagoon.com for more information about this exciting new development at Digital Lagoon!
